My photographs of landscapes capture the beautiful open spaces that are close to my home in Newcastle upon Tyne, from the River Derwent in Gateshead, to the autumnal splendour of Jesmond Dene. The countryside of Northumberland gives me an opportunity to photograph some of the most beautiful landscapes in England but it is not always the iconic imagery that I am looking to capture.
I am constantly experimenting with ways in which to reinterpret and represent its splendour. Ultimately I look to convey and capture a sense of calmness and magic in my photographs, from strobe lit close ups of streams, to newly planted woods on reclaimed pit land.
