I first discovered photography after buying an old Kodak Box Brownie in a jumble sale. My dad showed me how to develop the film in our cellar and I quickly became enthralled by the process. After an 18th birthday present of a Nikon and spending far too much time in the school dark room, I knew that photography was going to be my life. After rejecting some more conventional ‘career paths’, I graduated from Northumbria University with a BA Hons in Contemporary Photography and set about perfecting my craft.
25 years, a Labrador, one delightful daughter later and I now provide commercial photography/video services both here in the North East and nationally. I am still just as excited as ever about capturing the essence of someone special, a sublime landscape or making your business shine. Great photography elicits powerful emotions.
I take a fresh approach to every commission. I’m always striving to produce original photography be it a family portrait for the home or a commercial image for marketing a business. I do this by listening to my clients at the very start of the process and then by employing strong technical skills and creativity. I’ve had particular experience of working with vulnerable sections of society and those affected by significant life events where working with sensitivity is uppermost.
I am John Faulkner and thank you for visiting my website. I do hope you like my work and feel free to get in touch with me any time.
